# Would You Be Missed?

When Ed, the slow-moving and allergic-to-work clerk in a small store, was not in evidence one morning, a customer asked:

“Where’s Ed? He ain’t sick, is he?”

“Nope, Ed ain’t workin’ here no more.”

“Is that so?” replied the customer. Then he added: “Got anybody in mind for the vacancy?”

“Nope. When Ed left he didn’t leave no vacancy.”

Is your life in the Lord’s Church like Ed’s—that you do so little and come so infrequently that you would hardly be missed of you should die or move away? Think about it. —Selected
