Modern-Day Secular-Humanist Pharisees
Fran Itkoff believes in fighting against Multiple Sclerosis. According to an article on the Internet by Heather Hunter, Itkoff has worked as a volunteer for the National MS Society for 60 (yes, that’s right, sixty) years. She is now 90 years of age, and the cause has been dear to her heart because her husband died of MS 20 years ago. He too had been a volunteer for the National MS Society up until the time of his death. Over a period of time, Itkoff had accumulated \ “multiple awards for her dedication and involvement in the support group for multiple sclerosis patients.” Her daughter, Elle Hamilton, commented that “volunteering for the support group has been her mother’s whole life with the goal of helping other patients get through their situations.” So, it came as a shock to everyone that she was fired.
Fired? A volunteer of sixty years is fired? Wow! What must you have done to be treated in such an ignominious way? Did she embezzle money from the organization? Was she nasty and cruel to patients? Did she shoot a fellow volunteer? No, her crime consisted of not understanding the use of pronouns. Say, what? Yes, that is precisely what led to her dismissal. She made the huge blunder of asking about “the use of pronouns in an email signature.” Seriously? She had seen the pronouns a time or two but did not know what to make of it; so she asked the person who had sent the email. This unnamed (cowardly) worker said the pronouns meant “they were all-inclusive.” Well, that didn’t make sense, either, since she/her seems to exclude males.
Itkoff then received an email a few days later that read as follows: “We appreciate your dedication and contribution as a Self-Help Group Leader with our organization. As we discussed earlier during a phone conversation, after a thorough review of our guidelines and standards, it has come to our attention that there has been a failure to abide by Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion guidelines during your time as a volunteer. Unfortunately, based on the situation, we have made the difficult decision to have you step down from your volunteer position, effective immediately.”
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, in case the reader has forgotten, is what gets a plagiarist hired as President of Harvard. So, The National MS Society appreciates her 60 years of service. Does anybody see any sincerity in this claim? Sixty years of service! And she is kicked to the curb. She dared to question the purpose for a pronoun. How criminal! At least, they were not able to lock her up—yet. A Christian would never behave the way NMSS treated this woman. So, she must be an atheist or secular humanist—at the very least politically correct or Woke. What is evident is that there is a person who said, “How dare someone not use my pronoun!” She is nothing less than a politically-correct, vengeful Pharisee.
