People are still making these same five mistakes. Disobedience is as abundant as water. Somehow, mankind, despite gallons of evidence to the contrary, has not ever seemed to notice that sin has consequences. Of course, God spoke to Adam and Eve, and they knew immediately what their penalties for sin were, and we are still experiencing them today. But whether or not we see the consequences of our actions right away, they occur, and it a mistake to ignore them.
Today, unworthy worship is so commonplace that many think that Biblical worship is odd and erroneous. Some cannot imagine worship being any different than that to which they are accustomed even though what they practice is not authorized in the Scriptures.
Almost universal among people today is the idea that God simply does not care what they do or how they behave. They have convinced themselves that God is love and that He will forgive anything they do that is wrong whether they repent of it or not. Apparently, His punishment on all mankind with a worldwide flood has somehow escaped their attention, as has the fact that God will destroy the universe the next time with fire (2 Peter 3:10-13). There is a price to pay whenever mankind ignores and resents the will of God. Mankind has failed to learn from the past.
All things are possible with the Almighty. Enabling a woman to have a child when she is past the age for doing so is a simple matter for the great I AM. Even a virgin birth poses no difficulty. All that is physical is easily manipulated by God Who is Spirit.
Man has always tried to justify his sins. “My behavior is normal and a legitimate alternative,” is what they claim—no matter what they are involved in—homosexuality, adultery, fornication, or various types of lascivious behavior. Truly, mankind has made very little attempt to understand the holiness of God.
One of the biggest mistakes is failing to learn from our mistakes. Everyone makes them, but do we profit from them? Do we repent of them?
