America’s Liberal Agenda Watchdog

What a bunch of sanctimonious whiners! The news media prides themselves on being America’s watchdog! What a joke! In many instances these “watchdogs” growl at their owners and lick the burglars. They readily attack the institutions that made this nation great, giving them their freedoms, and rave about how great those are who favor socialism and communism. Newspaper editors recently protested the President of the United States’ statements concerning “fake news” (do they know where this phrase originated?) and the expression “enemy of the people.” This reply to their editorial has nothing to do with defending Donald Trump; he can take care of himself—apparently too well for the Orlando Sentinel. This response seeks to explain the reason “journalists” are wrong in their assessment.

Why do you think people respond favorably to the president’s assessment? The reason does not lie in their personal fondness for him—but because they know he is right. We have all seen how slanted the media is and has been for decades. Entire books have been written on the liberal slant of the media, but none of them has changed things one iota. Does Bernie Goldberg’s books, Bias and Arrogance, ring any bells? These were written long before Trump became president. Following is just one example: This writer once took a reporter to an agency that had factual data which, if made known publicly, say, in the daily paper, would have cleared up a local controversy; the “newsman” said the paper would probably not publish those facts. Seriously, and what would be the reason for that—except that the paper’s philosophy was aligned on one side, and the truth was on the other?

Many who are Christians have noted how the media has absolutely fawned over Planned Parenthood while scarcely giving the time of day to the pro-life movement. And if some wacko attacks an abortion clinic, that’s front page news for weeks, but how many stories have been written about the “killing fields” of Philadelphia? [This comment refers to Dr. Kermit Gosnell, about whom a movie had been made, called: Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer. What was allowed to happen in Philadelphia was unconscionable. If the average person does not hear much about it, it will be due to the bias of the news media in favor of abortion and Planned Parenthood and against respect for human life.]

What’s the ratio of pro-homosexual stories to pro-traditional family ones—about 1,000 to 1? “Journalists” no longer report the news; they take sides on moral issues.

How about some recent examples? How many stories about Judge Roy Moore were printed with accusations of sexual harassment going back 35 to 40 years (but none since that time)? Now, how many were printed about Keith Ellison, Deputy Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, who’s been accused by two women recently of domestic violence? Both were candidates for public office. Reports of sexual abuse against the Catholic Church are entirely warranted, but what about the 1,400 cases of girls (ages 12 to 14) being used as sex slaves in Rotherham, England—and the fact that the authorities knew but did nothing about it? Why isn’t that newsworthy? If the news media wants to have respect, they ought to try impartiality instead of complaining about someone who is out-bullying them.
