1 CHRONICLES
EXPLANATION
There is no need for an outline; this book consists primarily of
two principles subjects: genealogies and the life of David. Chapters
1-9 and 23-27 are devoted exclusively to the former. Chapter 10
briefly mentions the life (actually, the death ) of Saul, and the
remaining chapters discuss David. Little of 1 and 2 Samuel are
repeated here; there is more of an emphasis on David's request and
preparations for the building of the temple (22:7-8). Most scholars
consider that Ezra wrote 1 and 2 Chronicles.
