KEY VERSES AND PASSAGES
1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God."
1:14 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we
beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of
the Father, full of grace and truth."
3:14-19 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send
His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the
world through Him might be saved. He who believes in
Him is not condemned; but He who does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the
condemnation of the world, that the light has come into
the world, and men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil."
5:18 "Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him,
because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that
God was His Father, making Himself equal with God."
5:22 "For the Father judges no one, but has committed all
judgment to the Son."
5:27 "And has given Him authority to execute judgment also,
because He is the Son of Man."
5:28-29 "Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which
all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come
forth- those who have done good, to the resurrection of
life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection
of condemnation."
6:15 "Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to
come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed
again to a mountain by Himself alone."
6:38 "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will,
but the will of Him who sent Me."
7:24 "Do not judge according to the appearance, but judge with
righteous judgment."
8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins;
for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in
your sins."
8:31-32 "Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, 'If you
abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you
shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.'"
8:44 "'You are of your father the devil, and the desires of
your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the
beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there
is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks
from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father
of it.'"
12:32-33 "'And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all
men to Myself.' This He said, signifying by what death
He would die."
12:48-50 "'He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has
that which judges Him-the word that I have spoken will
judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My
own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a
command, what I should say and what I should speak.
And I know that His command is everlasting life.
Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has
told Me, so I speak.'"
13:34-35 "'A new commandment I give to you, that you love one
another; as I have loved you, that you also love one
another. By this all will know that you are My
disciples, if you have love for one another.'"
14:1-3 "'Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God,
believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many
mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go
to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again and receive you to
Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.'"
14:6 "Jesus said unto Him, "'I am the way, the truth, and the
life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'"
14:25-26 "'These things I have spoken to you while being present
with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the
Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things,
and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to
you.'"
14:27 "'Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as
the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be
troubled, neither let it be afraid.'"
15:1-2 "'I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes
away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that
it may bear more fruit.'"
15:5 "'I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in
Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit; for without Me you
can do nothing.'"
15:12-14 "'This is My commandment, that you love one another as I
have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than
to lay down one's life for his friends. You are My
friends if you do whatever I command you.'"
15:18-20 "'If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before
it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would
love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I
chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Remember the word I said to you, "A servant is not greater
than his master." If they persecuted Me, they will also
persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours
also.'"
16:12-13 "'I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot
bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has
come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not
speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He
will speak; and He will tell you things to come.'"
17:17 "'Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.'"
17:20-2 "'I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who
will believe in Me through their word; that they all may
be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that
they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe
that You sent Me.'"
18:11 "Then Jesus said to Peter, 'Put your sword into the
sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father
has given Me?'"
18:36 "Jesus answered, 'My kingdom is not of this world. If My
kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so
that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My
kingdom is not from here.'"
19:19-20 The title above the cross was written in Hebrew, Greek,
and Latin.
19:34 When His side was pierced with a spear, blood and water
came forth.
