10th ANNUAL ONE DAY LECTURESHIP

Last Saturday was a great spiritual day for members of South Seminole and others in the area who attended this tenth lectureship. At least 75 were present, and ten congregations were represented. Three of these were speakers; so, besides ourselves, brethren from six other area congregations participated in the event.

We owe a great deal of thanks to Jim and Diane Correll for handling the food preparation, aided by Judy Haley and Rick Huff. Helping with the proofreading of the book were Jim Correll and Barbara Summers; Verona bound the books. Many members brought food; Diane Correll and Bobbie Dickinson decorated the tables.

The speakers outdid themselves providing the material for the book, providing 70 full-length pages, to which was added another 28 pages of related materials. The theme concerning moral issues could not have been more relevant. Below are the topics and speakers.

Other materials included a sermon on alcohol by Evan Diaz and some articles of varying length about pornography, homosexuality, and the vote on medical marijuana coming up in November here in Florida. Initially, 70 books were prepared, which were all gone by Saturday. Ten more were printed on Sunday, and they were gone by evening. Requests were made for 30 more, and they are all spoken for. More are being compiled and will be available.
